Woke up this morning feeling great. Had a great nights sleep, good breakfast, and hit the 60 mile drive to Baltimore. Got there at 8:30am for my weigh in and i was expecting to be in the 85kg weight class. After my weigh in of 87and change, i was bumped up to the next class at 94kg. Meaning i was competing against/with my buddies Tom and Chris from CrossfitDC.
My opening weight was 75kg and it felt great. Second attempt of 77kg was a little shaky but was a good lift. Failed my last attempt of 80 cause according to the judges, and my coach, i didn't shrug. Strength is there, just have to get under the bar a lot faster. Goal for my next meet is to snatch 90kg on my last attempt.
Opened with 95kg on the clean & jerk. It felt really great so i increased my second attempt to 100kg. Even that felt light that i made a pretty bold jump for my last attempt for 110kg. Once again, just like the snatch, the strength is there, i just have to get under the bar a lot faster than i currently do. Goal for my next meet is to get 112kg.
Didn't get Chris's last attempt on the snatch.
Final standing:
Gold: Chris
Silver: Steve
Bronze: Tom
CrossfitDC swept our weight class.
